UNIDENTIFIED GUNMEN INVADED ODOTITO

 Flash News : Information reaching us had it that our Igala bothers at Odotito, in Ajaokuta LG Council, were invaded in the wee hours of this morning and several persons were whisked away by unknown gun men suspected to be kidnappers. The abductors came in their numbers shooting sporadically into the air as the community were over powered. President Magufuli warns Tanzanians against Covid-19 vaccines

  Tanzanian President John Magufuli has warned the country’s health ministry against rushing into embracing the Covid-19 vaccines promoted by foreign companies and countries. Magufuli cast doubt on the global urge to develop Covid-19 vaccine claiming that little has been done to help cure other diseases like tuberculosis, HIV-Aids, malaria among other infections. “You should stand firm. Vaccinations are dangerous. If the white man was able to come up with vaccinations, he should have found a vaccination for Aids by now; he would have found a vaccination of tuberculosis by now; he would have found a vaccination for malaria by now; he would have found a vaccination for cancer by now,” he said. The Health ministry must know that not every vaccination is meaningful to our nation. Tanzanians must be mindful so that we are not used for trials of some doubtful vaccinations which can have serious repercussions on our health,” he added. HOODLUMS FREE ARRESTED SUSPECTS, ATTACK POLICE STATION

  Hoodlums free arrested suspects, attack police station By Segun Showunmi, Ibadan Oyo State Police Command has said some hoodlums terrorising Idi Arere, Popoyemoja, Born photo, Molete, Beere, Shogoye, Akobi and other areas within the Ibadan metropolis freed two suspects after attacking policemen. Police operatives from Mapo Division had earlier succeeded in arresting two suspects in connection with series of public disturbances in most of the areas before the incident happened.  Why COVID-19 spares the poor, by Doyin Okupe.    Have you been wondering why  ordinary folks seem to be less affected by COVID-19? Whenever my drivers, house helps and security come back from their leave at home, I always asked them the state of things in their villages. Up till today in the last one year, none has come back with any news of deaths or serious illnesses requiring hospitalisation in their homes or surroundings. I visited the Sabo Market in Sagamu (Ogun State) and the tomato market at toll gate in Ogere (Ogun State). I questioned many traders if any stall or store owners have been missing, or did not come to the market or have actually died. Responses were always negative. So clearly the prevalence of noticeable infection with COVID-19 is less among the lower class and fatalities appear to be higher among the upper class. However, It is necessary to make some adjustment for the fact that deaths among the elite class readily get media attention than those of regular folks
