~Open Letter To The Chairman, Kogi State People's Democratic Party (PDP)

By Gowon Yakubu

The Kogi state PDP concern youths, an umbrella body of PDP ,Kogi state chapter, deem it fit to write you this letter as the chairman of our great party, PDP, as regard the 2023  forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.

Mr chairman sir, let us reflect our minds on why we failed to win the  2019 general elections, especially the governorship election, one of the major reason for our failure was because of monarchical style the PDP adopted: the family of Ex Governor Idris Wada, and his immediate brother, Engineer Musa Wada,  former governor of kogi state H.E Ibrahim Idris who double as in-law to wada's family, whose refusal to allow a neutral aspirants to secured the party tick contributed immensely to our under performance in 2019.

This political miscalculation, have started to rare itself as 2023 general elections approaches.

As concern PDP youths, we don't want to  experience what

we underwent during  the  2019 general election, we therefore want to use this medium to draw the attention of our leaders and stakeholders of our party on the need to avoid another political miscalculations as we matched towards the 2023 elections.

It is on that note that  we write to appeal  and caution against the gubernatorial ambitions of the 2019 principal actors who trucated the party chances, Captain Idris Wada, Engineer Musa Wada and Abubakar Ibrahim Idris, the party need to take a stand by asking  both families to step aside, if not it'll affect the chances of our party  In the forthcoming general election.

The group maintained that the two family are not magnanimous and for the sake of the party progress, they should agreed to step aside so that a neutral and acceptable Aspirants be given the political space, either from the Western or Eastern senatorial District of the state to be the flagbearer of our great party come 2023.

We therefore  want to appeal to the state chairman of our great party (PDP)and  stakeholders to intensify more efforts by reconciling and arresting the  situation before the party primary election come  January 2023. We equally wish to appeal to former  Governor Ibrahim Idris,  his counterpart, Captain Idris Wada and his brother, Engineer Musa Wada to  reconcile their differences at this crucial time for the benefit of kogites who sees  our party as the only alternative to the current situation in Kogi state and Nigeria at large.

This is the only solution to our problems if solve, there's no qualms about the fact that  our victory come 2023 is certain and both families would be celebrated by kogites as hero of democracy.

Finally, we want to appeal to our leaders, Gov. Idris and his predecessor, Gov. Wada to advise both Abubakar, former Governor wada and his brother Engineer Musa wada to shelve  their ambitions for the interest of the state and the party, this is where our chairman and stakeholders are expected to play a vital role.

However, we can not conclude without appreciating our father, leader and mentor His Excellency Alhaji Ibrahim Idris the former governor of kogi state of his boldness in advising his son Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Idris to step aside for the success and progress of the party.

Gowon Yakubu, is the Secretary, Kogi PDP Concern Youth.

ABENEMI’S CARETAKER COMMITTEE OF KOGI SDP: A FARCE?

ABENEMI’S CARETAKER COMMITTEE OF KOGI SDP: A FARCE? The situation regarding the caretaker committee established by the SDP in Kogi state is beginning to shift, as the presiding judge has decided to return the case to the Chief Judge (CJ) for reassignment to a substantive judge once the judicial vacation ends. This decision is significant because, upon reassignment, the new judge will set a fresh date for the hearing, which, according to reports, may be sometime in October or November. Until then, all parties must maintain the status quo, meaning, Hon. Moses Peter will continue as the chairman, and the caretaker committee's actions will be rendered ineffective, making all their decisions null and void. In terms of the upcoming elections, this implies that: - The Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) will be legally bound to recognize Moses Peter as the party chairman and work with him on all electoral matters. - Candidates not presented to KOSIEC through the office ...
