Novelty Match: THE 'OLD TIMERS' OF THE AJEKO FOOTBALL TEAM HAS LIFTED A TROPHY AFTER A UNITY NOVELTY MATCH ENCOUNTER IN IYALE

The current Onuh of Iyale, Mallam Idris Wada Akogu while appearing live during the just concluded novelty match held in Iyale today organized the display of the 'fleet foot' at the Primary School in Ate-Ojuwo Iyale as the Old Timers of the Ajeko Football Team was inspired to a 2 - 0 in a novelty match against the current players of the team.
The recently installed Onuh of Iyale was overjoyed as he has physically participated in the novelty match between the intra-Ajeko Team he had played for in the past this time been captained by Abubakar Sadiq Ejigbo with the 'Ajeko men team' beating the current youthful and energetic team to give the 'old timers' side a lead.
The ex-Ajeko maintained the tempo set ab initio and remained unequalized till few minutes later to force the match to end 2 - 0 won by them. The match which featured former Ajeko Team mercurial midfielder, Steve Adah Begwus, the current Chief Medical Director of Kogi state Health Management Board, Dr. Zakari Alhaji Usman, Isaac Ocholi, The MD/CEO of Ella & Dave Nigeria LTD, Engr. Emmanuel Omede, The councillor representing Iyale ward, Hon. Achile Salihu, the police officer as the keeper of the team, Adegbe Owete. The Old Timers' recorded success of the two goals was due to the forceful and intentional falling of one of their own players, Hon. Achile Salihu around the danger area of the opposing team leading to a penalty while the second goal was secured through a contention of the defence line of the junior team through the effort of the MD/CEO of Ella & Dave Nigeria LTD, Engr. Emmanuel Omede, Eneojo Ogbadu Otumba, Badamasi Abimaje, Abimaje Attah, others notable ex-Technical Advisers there were, Fred Bortlar, DSP Jerry Ocheni. The members of the both line-ups were mesmerizing each other and crossing the opposing defense lines with skillful display of football.
The young players of the Ajeko Town Team are; The Captain of the team Awwal Ruliwan, others are Oboy Aguero, mabe, Yakubu, Abdul Adama, Salifu calito, Muhammad Achile, Atule ilani, Monday Ademu, Faruq Akpa, Adulbayan Drisu, JIBRIN Pogba, Okpna Danladi, Eji Edakwo, Sumaila Ayibo, Hamuza James, Ahmed Ruliwan and Faruq Monday.
Speaking after the highly entertaining match, the Onuh of Iyale said such sporting activity was significant being that it would serve as a reminder to the upcoming indigenes of Iyale and its environs how united Iyale was as a town during the glory days of the soccer legends of Iyale.
He affirmed that their positive willpower and dedication to Iyale aside from bringing glory to her just as demonstrated today would go a long way to integrate the various surrounding communities of Iyale without differences by uniting together for the greatest good of our people.
The Onuh of Iyale used the opportunity to thank all the participants of the novelty match especially those who have contributed in cash and kindness to make it a success. He urged all the older people and youth alike in Iyale to preach the gospel of social integration, peace and unity.
The youth of Iyale have in a resounding joyfulness expressed happiness for playing the old in the presence of Onuh of Iyale, Mallam Idris Wada Akogu. The youth have jointly affirmed that they stand united against every form of divisions.
The highlight of the event was the institutionalisation of the novelty match to go on annually with the annual take-off of the maximum teams of twelve (12) which would be deliberated and reframed anytime soon by the evolving technical and management teams for timely and robost planning and execution.
Another football match underway pretty soon to attracting two teams from Iyale and one each from all the surrounding villages in another unity packed fashion on the same field.
