2023: YPP holds primaries for the various offices in Kogi State


 The Young Progressives Party (YPP) held its primaries today june 4.

The party’s state Publicity Secretary, Hon. Komolafe Segun David, disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Lokoja.


Hon. Komolafe said the decision to hold the special primaries was reached at YPP’s 17th National Working Committee (NWC) meeting held on Thursday at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

He said: “The NWC has approved the timetable and schedule of activities for the conduct of the 2023 general elections.

“This is in accordance with the Provisions of the Electoral Act 2022 and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines.

The processes kickstarted with the sales of nomination forms for all elective offices, which commenced on March 14. The congresses to elect Ad hoc delegates was held nationwide on May 14. The primaries for the House of Assembly was held today being june 4, 2022.



The primaries for House of Representative aspirants would hold today.

The State's Party Chairman, Dr. Victor O. Akubo while declaring the primaries open, welcomes all the contestants and other participants to the event. He

has promised to seek the supports of the people of our dear state that would help to ensure that our citizens and institutions continue to have free access to credible and reliable information for societal, rural and urban growth and development.


Dr. Victor also promised to use his good offices to rally round the state and seek the supports of the people of our dear state so as to give maximum supports and votes to YPP and its candidates jostling for various positions during the 2023 general election for a secured betterlife which is the main mandate of YPP for the state and Nigeria.
