HON. JUSTICE OKPANACHI SYMPATHISES WITH THE VICTIMS OF FLOOD IN KOGI

The former Kogi State House of Assembly Aspirant to represent the people of Dekina-Biraidu Constituency on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, Hon. Justice has expressed pains and sympathy over the victims due to the recent unavoidable flooding that engulfed parts of Kogi state.

The well known humanitarian achiever said: 'It is indeed with heavy heart and great sadness that I sympathise with the victims of devastating destructions caused by heavy flood in Ganaja and other places in Kogi state.'

He also stated, 'The tragic consequences which destroyed hundreds of houses has equally rendered thousands of families homeless, including several loss of lives and even more wounded'.

On this note I offer my deepest sympathy and condolences to the victims and their families.

While in solidarity with the victims I called on the government, particularly the state government to provide the necessary infrastructures to stem this perennial flooding occurrences.

With this recent flooding, it is long overdue for the state government, to step up their game by stepping up their disaster risk reduction strategy.
