THE 2023 COLOURFUL NOVELTY MATCH BETWEEN THE OLD TIMERS AND AJEKO FOOTBALL TEAM ENDED SATISFACTORILY
The Novelty Match Between The Iyale Old Timer And The AJEKO FOOTBALL TEAM, has brought unity and togetherness to Iyale in Dekina Local Government Area Of Kogi State.
The Ceremony for the commencement of the match was done by Our Royal Father; Chief (Alh.) Idrisu WADA AKOGWU, The Onu Iyale.
The game began on a good note and the first two (2) goals were scored by the former councilor representing Iyale Ward, Hon. Achile Salifu while the game was actively going on at about 10:47am.
Those scores were so scintillating as it brought fun without crushing encounters around the portion of the goal area with the keeper and the scorer facing each other in clear views.
The second goal was seamlessly done wonderfully by the above same scorer while sitting on the ground overlooking the goalkeeper in a dignifying manner.
The first half started around 08:23hrs while the second half started around 10:21am and was still ongoing to the steady time of 10:34am.
The Onu Iyale was there from the beginning of the match till the last minute.
The founder and the financier Of the all year round novelty since 2021, Engr. Emmanuel Omede brought a sense of sportsmanship and camaraderie during the match as both a player and strong pillar of support.
The said Financier Of the match is the Managing Director And Chief Executive Officer of the Dove Home Limited.
The name of the company engraved on the jerseys is owned by Engr. Emmanuel Omede.
Mr. Steven Adah who glamorously and colourfully received the Trophy from Mrs. Abigail Onuh on behalf of the rest members of the team. The presentation of the trophy was done by Mrs. Abigail Onuh under the authority of The Onuh Of Iyale who supposed to do the ceremony.
Mr. Steven Adah has largely supported the novelty match dating to it's foundation in the year 2021.
The Coach of the Old Timers, Mr. YUNUSA AYEH was actively on the field throughout the match. He demonstrated football leadership and enthusiasm capable of expanding, growing and developing the football frontiers in Iyale and its environs.
The officiating referee was Mr. Musa Ibrahim the ground son of the onetime Councilor representing Iyale Area, Mr. Ahiaba Ebiti.
The frontline indigenes of Iyale who honoured the game are; The President Of Iyale Area Development Association; Chief Gowon Abimaje and Mrs. Ann Paul.
Also The Onu Iyale's " new Iyeh EBULE Abuja designate" Mrs. Abigail Onuh to be greeted as "NYETE" was also there few minutes after the beginning of the second half till the end.
Other persons present are; Mrs. Omekele Paul and Mall. Shehu WADA.
Deacon Elect, Rev. Sunday Akpa was on the field throughout the game. He played energetically to the satisfaction of the spectators. The Onu Iyale expressed satisfaction over the presence and participation of the one and only Deacon Elect in our midst, Rev. Sunday Akpa.
The match ended peacefully at about 10:41am with two goals intact for the old timers and nill for the AJEKO FOOTBALL TEAM.
Trophy was ceremonially presented to Mr. Steven Adah by Mrs. Abigail Onuh for the old timers' team.
The IADA's President, Mr. Gowon Abimaje expressed joy while maintaining that the introduction of the novelty match is a good thing leading to unity and development. He charged all the stakeholders and the organizers to keep the tempo. He equally invited the participants of today's game to show up and be part of the unity and development parked meeting organized by Iyale Area Development Association to be held later today at the LGA's Primary School Iyale.
The entertainment on the field was done by Bright Music World Anyigba.
