Strengthening Parliamentary Relations Between Nigeria and Vietnam: A Strategic Working Visit

In a significant step towards bolstering international co-operation and fostering mutual beneficial relationships, Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna IJN, Member of the House of Representatives, Representing Bassa/Dekina Federal Constituency, and who is eminently the Chairman of the House Committee on Nigeria/Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship, along with other distinguished members of the Committee, Hon. Salman Suleiman, Hon. Danladi, and Hon. Ajiya; recently visited the Vietnam Embassy in Nigeria. 



The delegation engaged in productive discussions with the Vietnam Ambassador to Nigeria; Mr. Hung and other senior Vietnamese officials, focusing on areas with the  promises of substantial benefits for both nations through their parliamentary relationship.

The Key Areas of Collaboration discussed during the meeting are:

- Economic Cooperation 

- Agricultural Development

- Educational and Cultural Exchange

- Health and Medical Cooperation

- Technological and Industrial Partnership 

- Security and Defense Collaboration.

In his speech, Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna emphasized on the importance of Vietnamese importation of cashew seeds from Nigeria, particularly from Kogi State.

 He highlighted that Kogi East is renowned for producing the best cashew seedlings in Nigeria, making it an ideal partner for Vietnam for the fulfilment of her agricultural needs. 


Hon. Haruna's advocacy underscores the quality and potential of Nigerian cashew seedlings, encouraging Vietnam to take advantage of this valuable resource.

The visit of Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna IJN and the House Committee to the Vietnam Embassy marks a pivotal moment in Nigeria-Vietnam relation.

 By focusing on these critical areas, both nations stand to gain significantly, paving the way for a stronger, more prosperous partnership.



 The commitment to fostering a robust parliamentary relationship will undoubtedly contribute to the sustainable development and mutual prosperity of Nigeria and Vietnam.
