ILLEGAL OCCUPANTS TO AVOID FURTHER ENCROACHMENT ON LAND ALLOCATED FOR AERODROME IN IDAH LGA SAYS HON. ABUH ODOMA
The Executive Chairman of Idah LGA, Hon. Abuh Odoma, has called on the good people of Idah LGA to resist the temptation of encroaching on land allocated for aerodrome development by the Federal Government.
This was contained in a rebuttal first circulated on the July 27, 2022 which is currently repeated due to barrage of outcry by the illegal residents or occupants of Ogwutelechi in Ugboluma, Angwa Ayegba Community.
The Executive Chairman, Idah LGA, Hon. Abuh has reacted thus;
'Our attention has been drawn to an online news publications on myriad of platforms by the people of Ogwutelechi at Ugboluma in Angwa Ayegba Community in Idah LGA of Kogi state'.
The Local government' chairman, Hon. Abuh Odoma has strongly refuted the allegations levelled against him so far.
He maintained that, he has no hand in the said demolition. This was stated amid claims by the people or residents of both communities in Ugboluma who have issued or granted those press statements over the demolition of their properties especially buildings without prior notice from the governments. He affirmed that it is only the federal government that has the right through the state government to call for demolition, vacation and eviction of both legal and illegal occupants in line with the rights parliamentary statutes or acts.
The recent development upon our confirmation was done in line with the issuance of an appropriation meant for the reactivation of the agelong aerodrome at the said location, leading to mass employment generation for the teeming youth thereby bringing about the expansion of rates and revenues for the local government and state in general.
The Chairman, however; has,
regrettably expressed pains and disappointments over the innocent people affected by the demolition as a result of the buying of plots of land belonging to the Federal government. It was our interest to help those affected but such opportunity was beyond our table and limit of duties and responsibilities respectively.
The Chairman has called on the law abiding indigenes and residents of Idah LGA to desist from buying lands from unauthorised spectators or agents as encroachment on the land owned by the federal government would be treated with stiff penalties because federal government has expressed readiness to reclaim the land and put it to the desired use for the benefit of the people. The Aerodrome upon completion will strengthen local and state government's economy thereby empowering the people.
The Chairman also thanked the governor of Kogi state and the Presidnt Muhammadu Buhari for bringing to fruition the airstrip for the betterment of our people.
Conclusively, kindly desist from further buying or tresspassing on the said land to avoid unnecessary embarrassment of vacation, eviction or demolition as witnessed currently.
Given the above, it very clear that our amiable and kindest Local government's Chairman, Hon. Abuh Odoma had no hand in the whole demolition as projected in the media especially on the electronic online platforms.
Further facts check revealed that the Idah Council Boss has no hand in any demolition stating that Hon. Abuh Odoma has shown more commitment to crime prevention and control as his constitutional responsibilities.
