GOV. BELLO COMMENDED FOR GIVING PRIORITY TO ORPHANAGE HOMES- HON. PST, MRS SERAH OGIDO

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has been commended for giving priority to orphanage homes to ensure well being of the orphans.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Orphanage homes for the twenty-one Local Government Areas of the State, Honourable Mrs. Serah  Ogido gave the commendation when she visited some orphanage homes in the state.

Honourable Mrs Ogido described the Governor as a leader who is committed to ensure that children in orphanages were given adequate cares, stressing that it is in regards of achieving these aims that he appointed a Senior Special Assistant on Orphanage homes.

The SSA who described the orphans as important as every humans in the society, said the essence of the visit was to identify the conditions and challenges, as well as well being of children in their respective orphanage homes and to contribute positively to their lives.

Mrs. Ogido assured that under the present Administration, children in orphanage homes across the twenty-one Local Government Areas of the State will be properly taking care of to enable them become useful in the society.

She listed some orphanage homes visited within Lokoja local government to include; Standing Corner of Orphanage home, Magret orphanage home, Ministry of Mercy Orphanage home and Rehoboth Orphanage home.

The management of both orphanages visited appreciated Governor Yahaya Bello for his good work towards orphanages, describing him as the first of his kind to give orphanage homes a recognition by appointing a Senior Special Assistant on Orphanage homes.


The SSA , also mentioned major challenges facing the orphanage homes visited to include; mobility, dilapidated buildings, education and feeding.

She appealed to Government and well to do individuals to come to the aid of children in orphanage homes by attending to their major challenges, especially feedings and renovation of their buildings.




 The Senior Special Assistant thanked God almighty and Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for finding her worthy of the position and promised to justify the confidence reposed in her to ensure that the administration of the Governor achieve set goals.
