 PRESS RELEASE - BREAKING NEWS. REJOINDER TO A COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF THE EMERGENCY MEETING OF KOGI EAST CRITICAL STAKEHOLDERS (KECS) HELD ON 2ND APRIL, 2024 AT ABUJA. We wish to clarify certain deliberate and erroneous impressions created by certain groups bent on continuous lies and blackmail pretending to be concerned about the people of Kogi East but are pursuing their personal agenda by exploring the emotions of the people while their stories are heavily hinged on deliberate falsehood and lies to mislead the unsuspecting public.   This deliberate falsehood if allowed to continue is capable of setting the people up against each other in Kogi East and Kogi State in general.  With all sense of modesty and responsibility may we state in clear terms devoid of any ambiguity that all the issues raised by Kogi East Critical Stakeholders (KECS) in their COMMUNIQUÉ of Wednesday April 2nd 2024 as it relates to Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu the Honourable Minister of Steel Development

KOGI GOVT SIGNS MULTI-BILLION CONTRACT FOR EROSION CONTROL IN THREE SENATORIAL DISTRICT.

 KOGI GOVT SIGNS MULTI-BILLION CONTRACT FOR EROSION CONTROL IN THREE SENATORIAL DISTRICT. Kogi State Governor, Usman Ahmed Ododo has signed a contract in the total sum of N29, 929,447,352.15 billion for the commencement of gully reclamation, stabilization and channelization at Etahi, in Okene, Omigbo in Kabba and Olubojo in Ankpa these sites cut across the three Senatorial Districts of Kogi State. A breakdown of the Contract shows that the Contract sum for Etahi Gully Site stands at N10, 664,612,410.46, and that of Omigbo Site stands at N9, 866,807,044.00; while the Contract sum for Ankpa gully Sites stands at N9, 397,037,897.69 only. Signing the contract for the commencement of civil works, the Governor charged the contractors to handle the assignment with the seriousness it deserves, as this is aimed at addressing the menace of gully erosion and its attendant effects in the affected communities. I condemn in strong terms the reoccurring maiming and killing of innocent kogites in Bagana, Otutubatu, Iyade, Agbenema, Agojeju-Odo and other affected communities in Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State. The life of every kogite is sacred and important and it is the responsibility of the  state government to protect the masses against internal and external aggression. It is high time the state government sit-up to its primary responsibility of securing Kogi state.
